Our Pinot Noir journey has been a bit of a passion project. Our intention from the outset was to deliver a beautifully elegant Pinot Noir from our cool climate, estate single vineyard in Eden Valley. We planted our Pinot vines in 2012 in the three coldest and rockiest spots in our vineyard. Purple edged garnet in colour. The aroma opens with herbal tones over bright red berries and a lift that’s reminiscent of tomatoes ripening on the vine. The savoury sweet crossover palate features cherry flesh and cranberry tart, over glossy tannins, with a lingering strawberry finish. Vegan. Joanne Irvine’s winemaking career began at an early age, following her father James Irvine “Master Merlot Maker” around the winery from age seven, undertaking the ritual tasting of ferments and wine blending. In 2010 Jo established Wine Wise; a small batch processing facility in the Barossa to provide winemaking services to small, boutique producers. Jo believes that great wines are created by synergy and attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery. She strives for excellence and brings passion to the quality of the wines she produces for Brockenchack.
