Wine Description
The name East meets West signifies that the wine is a blend of shiraz clones from the East and West sides of the ridge on the Estate. The East side receives the early morning sun and is protected from the late afternoon sun on hot summer days. The combination of clonal selection, varying harvest days, and the influence of climate helps produce a wine of great interest and complexity.
It’s a classic Heathcote shiraz; full-bodied with layers of blood plum and spice and excellent cellaring potential. The wine is aged for 18 months with 25% new French oak, the tannins providing support and structure to the fruit.
Impenetrable in dark purple hues. Equally dense and concentrated in aromas and flavours defined by ripe, dark fruits and dark spices and oak. Firm tannins and a meaty finish complete a wine that is full of flavour and rich in bold Heathcote personality.
