Wine Description
Winemaking: Partially hand picked, fermented in 5t open top stainless steel fermentation tanks. Carbonic macerated, hand plunged and basket pressed. Put straight into 30% new French oak for 14 months.
This shiraz comes from multiple sites across the Adelaide Hills.
Vineyard 1: Estate grown on our Mt Barker vineyard, at 410m this vineyard experiences a warmer, dryer summer than average for the Adelaide Hills. Exceptionally pretty, right and lifted Shiraz.
Vineyard 2: Grown at Balhannah, at 335m this vineyard experiences a warmer, dryer Summer than average for the Adelaide Hills. this vineyards fruit had great concentration with an earthy and savoury character.
Vineyard 3: Grown at Charleston, at 450m this vineyard is a wet cool party of the Adelaide Hills and displays spice and plum flavours.
Vineyard 4: Grown at Mt Torrens, at 470m this vineyard is very low yielding, therefore producing fruit with intensity of dark fruits and gives the wine incredible structure.
Story: This wine displays a true varietal expression of the Adelaide Hills.
Taste: The palate displays dark berry fruits, plum, chocolate oak and Asian spice (a typical feature of the Mt Barker sub-region). Medium bodied with high natural acidity and moderately low tannin
