La Volpe (“the fox”) is more approachable in youth than most nebbiolo. Aromas of red cherries, rose petals, tar and earth are very varietal, and the medium bodied palate has firm tannins and zesty acidity for lip-smacking balance. A great introduction to Piedmont’s greatest grape variety.

After vintages in Tuscany, the Mornington Peninsula and Margaret River, Joel Pizzini returned to make wine for the family business in 2002. Always working hard to introduce best practice viticulture and winemaking principles Joel is on the quest to make the best Sangiovese and Nebbiolo that Australia can produce. Each vintage Joel works with over 15 Italian grape varieties to make the family’s wines from Prosecco to Nebbiolo, Joel produces wines made to be enjoyed with food.
