Named to honour a Pizzini family matriarch, Nonna Gisella, this appetising red has a classical “Italian deli” sangiovese aroma of glacé cherries, mocha and spice. The middleweight palate has a pleasantly soft middle with lip-smacking acid balance and fine, not-too-assertive tannins.

After vintages in Tuscany, the Mornington Peninsula and Margaret River, Joel Pizzini returned to make wine for the family business in 2002. Always working hard to introduce best practice viticulture and winemaking principles Joel is on the quest to make the best Sangiovese and Nebbiolos that Australia can produce. Each vintage Joel works with over 15 Italian grape varieties to make the family’s wines from Prosecco to Nebbiolo, Joel produces wines made to be enjoyed with food.
