Behn Payten
Behn 'Payto' Payten's father is a viticulturalist and so Payto grew up in the vineyard, driving his first tractor by age 5. Payto graduated in Oenology from the renowned Australian University of Charles Sturt in Wagga Wagga. He worked at a large winery in the Yarra Valley for 13 years, 6 years of which as the production winemaker. In 2015 Payto (and Troy Jones) committed to going full time with their already 7-year-old own wine brand - the wacky and inventively named "Payten and Jones". Never one to follow the crowd, they specialise in minimal intervention, natural, farming and winemaking, that translates into styles which are fruit forward and downright enjoyable.
