Wine Description
Named after Ben Schild who purchased the first family vineyard in 1952. Single vineyard shiraz from an exposed parcel set high in the hills of the Southern Barossa. Hand picked and open fermented. Unctuous plum and blackcurrant fruit coupled with chocolate and violet flower notes. Smooth, balanced and moreish.

Winemaker's Bio
Scott Hazeldine joined Schild Estate in 2009 bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.Born and raised in Malawi, Scott was educated in the UK but lured to Australia by a love of wine culture. He worked throughout the Barossa Valley before joining Bordeaux based “garagiste” producer Jonathan Maltus in his Australian operation Colonial Estate.
Seasoning his experience with time in Saint Emilion, Bordeaux and Napa Valley Scott has brought to Schild Estate an excitement and passion for winemaking that simultaneously honours traditions worthy of working with some of the world’s oldest vines whilst maintaining enthusiasm for continuous discovery.
