Wine Description
The DD Shiraz Grenache is a blend of fruit from the two terroirs of DOWIE DOOLE. The Shiraz is from the cool slopes of the Dowie Vineyard, gifting the wine elegant shiraz characteristics. The Grenache comes from the Doole Vineyard; this terroir adds richer Grenache characters, fruit lift, and weight.
The Shiraz and Grenache are blended immediately after pressing, then aged in oak for 12 months. A lifted bouquet of Shiraz expressing hints of plum and blackcurrant. The Grenache adds strawberry and fig characters. The fruit from the nose flows onto the palate and has a long, lingering palate.

Winemaker's Bio
Chris Thomas became DOWIE DOOLE's Chief Winemaker in 2011. Over his winemaking career, he has gained a wealth of experience working for wineries, including Fox Creek and Serafino Wines in McLaren Vale also Domaine Changarnier in Burgundy.
Wine Australia acknowledged Chris' commitment and passion for Australian wine in 2019; he graduated from the Wine Australia Future Leaders Programme.
