MOXIE [mok-see] noun: vigor; verve; pep; self confidence; force of character; determination or nerve
MOXIE is a non-vintage Sparkling Shiraz - A blend of various vintages including a Shiraz base that contains vintages as far back as 1996 to give extra depth and richness. The Shiraz in the Moxie have been used like a solera system with a portion of the older material used in the blend to give the wine depth and wonderful richness on the palate. This base has then been blended with Shiraz from the 2017 vintage to add lift, palate weight and richness.
Winemaker's Bio
Chris Thomas became DOWIE DOOLE’s Chief Winemaker in 2011. Over his winemaking carrier he has gained a wealth of experience working for wineries including Fox Creek and Serafino Wines in McLaren Vale, also Domaine Changarnier in Burgundy.
Since becoming winemaker Chris has elevated DOWIE DOOLE to a 5-star winery rated by James Halliday. Maintaining an average score of 94.5/100, with wines scoring ≥95.
Chris’ commitment and passion for Australian Wine was acknowledged by Wine Australia in 2019, he graduated from the Wine Australia Future Leaders Programme.
